Dear saints,
Could you please pray for me for a few things ? First, some circumstances at work feel overwhelming right now. I need God's wisdom to make right decisions. Secondly, in each of my kid's lives, my wife and I are desiring to see some real breakthroughs. For my youngest son, he has generally been having fewer 'temper problems' over the past few months, however recently, this problem seems to be cropping up again. For my oldest son, we're trying to teach him to accept responsibility for his actions more, but we haven't seen the progress we'd like to see in this area. I feel that at the root of it, these are spiritual issues. Please pray for me to have more patience, to be able to discipline in love, and also to trust in God to carry out the work, rather than rushing ahead sometimes, relying on my own devices.
Actually yesterday held some encouraging developments, as far as my kids were concerned. My wife and I had prayed to see God working very demonstrably in our kids' hearts, and we were happy to see my oldest son playing more nicely with his younger brother, rather than competing with him in sports/games as if they were equal footing. With my daughter, she lost something at one point and shortly after we prayed about the item, we found it. To me, although we have seen God do this before, the fact that it happened on a day when we had prayed very definitely for God to 'do something new in our kid's hearts' was faith building. I explained to my daughter the importance of tucking away such experiences of God's faithfulness in her heart.
In Jesus,
John
