My wife and I went to a Jeremy Camp concert this evening with two friends from church, Devin and Tanya.
Apparently, Jeremy Camp is an ordained Minister with Calvary Chapel; Praise God!
After the opening band, Jeremy Camp began playing.
He opened with a pretty heavy song and his set was a mix of both, but I'd say that even with his "heavier" music, the Biblical content was wonderful!
I'm not much of a Christian rock kind of guy, but Camp's lyrical content was refreshing.
In between numbers he'd testify of the Grace of God in his life and how the Lord brought him through his wife's battle with cancer and finally her death and he was able to cope with that: by the Grace of God.
Jeremy was tear filled at one point as he testified of various things; he clearly showed a heart for the things of God.
As he played, he prayed.
His music is a journey into his heart and the dealings of God in him.
He spoke of surrender and living for Christ.
He spoke of not coming to the concert for "emotions" but to come for Christ.
He spoke to the lost in the building (there were probably about 1600 people in attendance).
He opened the Word of God.
The concert was more of a worship service than anything else; hands raised and hearts lifted to Jesus, Brother Jeremy Camp led the People of God in praise to the Lord.
While I didn't like everything that the concert consisted of, all in all it was a great experience of being able to be led into worship by a humble man who most obviously loves the Lord and is sold out to Him.
I recommend Jeremy Camp to anyone reading this who may have Jeremy Camp coming to their city at some point; don't expect a hardcore rock concert...expect to be led into worship by a man who lost it all only to find Christ!
In closing, here are two songs by Jeremy Camp which were played at the concert this evening:
