I don't know the point of the movie from the trailer, but I can guess. It doesn't seem very logical. It's like me going around videotaping myself biting into a bunch of rubber oranges (like in those Thanksgiving basket things) and then saying "See, this is why eating oranges is ridiculous and no one should eat oranges." Ultimately, I think it's man's pitiful attempt to exalt himself. It's like a four year old who believes that if he keeps saying that he's superman, eventually it'll be true. Some people believe that if they keep saying "There is no God," it will mean it's true and they won't have to submit to His authority. I'm not sure if that's what they are saying the point of this movie is, but I think it's obvious. Good thing God is bigger than Hollywood.

It sounds like a spin off of what Ben Stein did with the documentary Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.

Hi Kayaker4theking,
Great having you on this forum ! I saw Expelled and enjoyed this movie. It made a good case for the idea that there are prejudicial influences at work amongst the scientific community and that those scientists who believe in God as the creator and sustainer of the universe, are sometimes paying for their convictions with their jobs !
I had a chance to talk a bit with a man who is an atheist, after the movie. One thing I like to challenge people with who are atheists and who subscribe to a naturalistic world view, is to consider how marvellously our bodies are constructed- in particular the human heart. If you consider that an automotive engineer, possessed with great intelligence and skill would be hard pressed to design a car that could run 24 hours a day, for 70 years or more, and yet this is precisely what a human heart can do, it is mind boggling to entertain the notion that random processes (evolution) could have produced such a result, as we are.
I am thankful that Expelled made it to the theatres in our city, if only for a few weeks. I am also looking forward to the Fireproof movie, featuring Kirk Cameron, which Eli was telling us about a few weeks ago on this forum. It is due to be released shortly.
In Jesus, John p.s. My oldest son got a chance to kayak recently up in Northern Canada and quite enjoyed it.
