Matthew 24:4,11 “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you…And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
As many of you know, I’m one who holds to all of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and believe completely that the Anointing of God breaks every chain; I’m coming to this article as a Spirit Filled believer, not as one who denies the Moving of the Spirit of God.
With that said, let me briefly share an experience I had while in the meetings of a Todd Bentley Associate named Bobby Sullivan, who had hands laid on him by Bentley (as do all Bentley Associates, apparently) to “spread” the “Florida Outpouring” wherever he happens to “minister” at.
If you aren’t aware yet, Todd Bentley speaks of an “angel” named Emma (a female angel)… kicks people, punches people, headbuts people… and claims God tells him to do such things in order to see people healed and “receive the anointing”. A tooth was knocked out of a Pastor’s mouth after Bentley kicked him in the face, claiming our Holy God instructed him to do so.
If you’ve heard of Todd Bentley or what is known as the “Florida Revival”, you know that strange things are happening in Christendom….
Bobby Sullivan and I were corresponding via email previous to his beginning the meetings; a day before, actually, if I recall correctly.
I was upfront with Mr. Sullivan and told him, basically, that I was not a fan of Todd Bentley… and Mr. Sullivan’s meetings confirm me even more in that “no fan of Todd Bentley” stand.
Let me explain by lumping all three meetings into one review.
Bobby didn’t really have much to say… and when he did bring the Word it was brought with mixture, which is deception.
Bobby would speak on Holiness and being right with God…he would also speak on “portals” and “dimensions” and how certain “spots” would have “something about them”…and he’d describe how he’d “walk into them” and fall down and such things.
Bobby would speak about Ireland and indirectly, but clearly, referred to himself as the individual to take up the “mantle of St. Patrick” and spread “revival” to Ireland.
He spoke of miracles apparently taking place in his “ministry” and yet offered no verifiable evidence…only his personal word.
His preaching is clearly marked by a falseness and an arrogance; he’s certainly a Todd Bentley clone, to say the least.
From the pulpit he would mock traditional churches that use Hymn Books, not realizing that there’s more God Honoring and God fearing theology in those old Hymns than in many of today’s modern Praise and Worship songs.
He made no apologies at scorning churches which were conservative, and claimed indirectly that if one was not raising their hands to Heaven during the worship music time that those people were most likely in sin, not realizing that many “play the game and act the part” while yet in their sin. The evidence of a Holy Spirit Filled and controlled life is Holiness… not whether one raises their hands or not.
Bobby Sullivan was perhaps one of the most pride-filled individuals I have heard yet, and I’ve seen them all (well, ok.. not all), and Bobby Sullivan is on the “top 10 list” for arrogant “ministers”.
He stated how he had his credentials with a large Pentecostal denomination in Canada and then proceeded to indirectly blast that very denomination while glorifying Todd Bentley’s “fresh fire ministries” (A better name would be “False Fire Ministries).
I’m curious then as to why Mr. Sullivan doesn’t hand in his credentials to this denomination if it’s that terrible?
He then went on to discourage people from Biblical Education by telling them Bible College Professors teach doubt.
Is that so?
College Professors teach doubt?
That’s a pretty broad stroke, Mr. Sullivan.
Again, why not relinquish your credentials, Mr. Sullivan?
Now, during “prayer time”, which was most of the service, with very little Word, I recall very very distinctly when a man with cancer came for prayer and stated “the doctor gave me 6 months to live”.
Bobby Sullivan, in the most arrogant demeanor, stated, “Awe…that’s too bad”.
It wasn’t in a compassionate kind of way… it was a clear mockery.
Perhaps Bobby would tell us he was “mocking the spirit of cancer” in the man… who knows?
Nonetheless, Mr. Sullivan was absolutely ignorant and unChristlike to this dying man.
Jesus Christ the Son of God operated in no such spirit… because His was the Holy Spirit of God.
Jesus Christ was compassionate and mocked not even devils; he simply cast them out.
Bobby Sullivan would have us believe the Spirit of God was moving him; nonsense.
As Bobby “prayed” for people, the most bizarre and sometimes what appeared demonically inspired, manifestations would take place.
Violent shaking, uncontrollable body movements such as twitching and such things, spiritual drunkenness *see Isaiah 29:9-11 for confirmation this is a Judgement from God on an Apostate people*, unholy hysterical laughter… it was all happening.
Mind you, the hosting church is “into” such things, yet Bobby himself was twitching and certainly saw all of the manifestations taking place as “proof” that his “ministry” was “anointed” by God.
Unfortunately, Bobby Sullivan is not anointed by God but operates in his own flesh and under a counterfeit anointing. He operates under a seducing spirit; he does operate in something supernatural, yet not to the degree of Benny Hinn or such false prophets as these. Our prayer should be that the Lord would hinder and completely stop this counterfeit anointing from increasing and deceiving the masses.
On the second night, while Bobby is “praying” for people, the Lord dropped into my spirit the following: “Prophet of Baal”.
Bobby Sullivan, again, primarily operates with a fleshly atmosphere, yet he also carries a seducing spirit…. and I believe that the more this man refuses to repent the more this seducing spirit will increase it’s activity in his life and work through him to deceive the masses.

Three Reasons why I came to the above conclusions:
1- Bobby Sullivan had an obvious air of arrogance that a lost person would easily be able to “discern” it; pride is the devil’s religion and has no place behind the sacred desk, mocking and scorning others openly and without shame. Pride is a very very easy thing to see; very few miss it when it comes. Indirectly stating you “could be” the next St. Patrick and bring revival to Ireland is silly. God alone brings revival, and no man can lay claim to it; not one.
2- Bobby Sullivan’s “prayer life” appears to be null and void as his primary “praying” was for power, rather than Jesus. Hardly a mention of Jesus, except in passing, both during prayer and “preaching”. On the last night of the meeting, Sunday evening, Bobby told how he “did nothing” all day and watched Nascar. Where’s the prayer life? Where’s the earnest diligent seeking of the Face of God in true humility and repentance? You come to our city for “revival” and yet on Sunday evening “do nothing all day” and watch Nascar? Something’s not right here.
3- Bobby Sullivan’s “anointing” is clearly false, as he primarily lifted high the banner of Todd Bentley and left Jesus Christ, the Sinless Lamb of God, out in the cold, rarely lifting up the Name of Jesus Christ. The manifestations taking place were mind boggling and certainly never took place in the ministries of Jesus, Paul or any of the Early Church disciples; Bobby Sullivan’s “anointing” is foreign to anything found in the New Testament. This is the greatest tell-tale mark that Mr. Sullivan’s “ministry” is false. Only that which is false can produce that which is false; if it’s not in the Word of God don’t swallow it, no matter what they say.
A wonderful experience did take place at the last meeting:
Though the above is a grim picture of the so called “Florida Revival”, the Lord did allow a wonderful experience to take place.
At the last meeting, which was Sunday evening, a young man had pulled up on his scooter asking about the meeting while Bobby and I were conversing outside; he introduced himself as Emery.
The young man and I went into the building and took our seats.
At the conclusion of the meeting I spoke with Emery and wanted to be sure he was Born Again…his response was, “I think so”.
As you can imagine, I saw this as a cleat witnessing opportunity and handed the young man over to a Veteran in the faith, whom I had gone to the last meeting with.
This older gentleman and personal friend of mine led Emery to Jesus Christ!
Please keep Emery in your prayers that God would so take hold of this young man’s heart and life that he’d never be the same again!
I have Emery’s contact information and will be in touch with him soon.
How should we respond to all of the above?
Beloved, pray that:
1- God’s Goodness and Mercy and Compassion come to Bobby Sullivan in order that Bobby might repent and return to the Jesus Christ of Scripture.
2- Those Bobby comes into contact with will not receive of what he’s imparting, if in fact their hearts are seeking after God alone.
3- This false fire will stop and that God will grant a genuine Moving and Operation of His Holy Spirit.
4- This article will spread across the world wide web, going before Bobby, Fresh Fire Associates and all to do with this unholy counterfeit, that others may read and be warned of coming deception.
As many of you know, I’m one who holds to all of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and believe completely that the Anointing of God breaks every chain; I’m coming to this article as a Spirit Filled believer, not as one who denies the Moving of the Spirit of God.
