I'm presently working on the completuion of the ICM Paraphrase Bible! What an exciting adventure! Anyhow, I thought I'd keep the version on the board as I continue to work on it, and any input would be appreciated!
The ICM Paraphrase Bible is the offspring, so to speak, of the King James Version of the Scriptures, though much easier to understand and comprehend for the average reader!
For example, if we turn to Jude 1:24 we find the following in the King James Version:
Jude 1:24 "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy"
If we turn to the same verse in the ICM Paraphrase Version, we read:
Jude 1:24 "The Lord is able to keep you from falling or stumbling into sin and He’s able to present you blameless before the Presence of His Glory with overflowing joy!
There's an obviously glaring difference!
Why?
The word "falling" in the KJV of the Bible, when seen in the Greek Language, states the following:
"aptaistos: not stumbling, that is, (figuratively) without sin: - from falling."
In the King James Version, we read that God can keep us from falling... however, in the ICM Paraphrase Version, we dig into the Ancient Languages to show what God is able to keep us from, namely, that He's able to keep is from falling or stumbling into sin, as the word "falling" in the Greek shows.
This gives the reader insight into the Victory purchased for us on the Cross!
This version of the Bible is both a paraphrase and in several instances employs a literal word useage, making the ICMPB not only a great devotional Bible but a clear, concise and understandable version.
