In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there. - Mark 1:35 (NASB)
Hi everyone,
LAST NIGHT
I heard an elderly pastor from Korea speak yesterday evening on the topic of revival. Back home in South Korea, he saw revival come to hundreds of churches in his country because they were committed to prayer. God has sent him to Canada now as a missionary to exhort churches to commit themselves to following Jesus' example of early morning prayer, for the purpose of revival.
MY OWN PRAYER LIFE
I was convicted by the message last evening because I know there is much lacking in my own prayer life. The more reading I have been doing about revivals of years past, the more I have found that sincere commitment to early morning prayer is ALWAYS at the centre of it. We want revival to come to our churches, our families, our city, but are we willing to earnestly pray for it?
THIS MORNING
I joined a group of believers at that church who got together at 5:00 am this morning to praise God, to confess their sins, and to lift up their unsaved loved ones and friends to the Lord. It was an incredible time of worship and blessing and I had to share this with you. The criticism I hear about North Americans is that we don't pray enough. Unfortunately, I fall into that category. I want to be in the throne room first thing in the morning, and I want to encourage you to do the same. Let's not be a people who know the power of the Holy Spirit, and fail to use it or seek it!
CHALLENGE TO YOU
I want to challenge all of you as believers in Christ to take heed to Christ's example. Are we willing to find a solitary place and get on our knees this early in the morning, sacrificially?
INVITATION TO GROUP PRAYER
If you are in or around the Toronto area, please let me know if you would be interested in gathering together for early morning prayer. The Lord will arrange for us the details of where and when. Let's keep knocking down the doors of Heaven, and wait for the POWER of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord bless and keep you all. Please get in touch with me or your pastor if you want to make a commitment to early morning group prayer. Let's be a people of PRAYER!!
