I would like to request prayer for some tracting I'll be doing over this next month. There is an opera festival here during the summer, and I'm planning to go down before the programs and hand out tracts near the entrance to the theater.
The reason I'm posting this is I am struggling with the spirit of fear right now! I really need an anointing of the Holy Spirit for this. The part of society here that goes to the opera is one that I am somewhat known in due to some performances I've done with classical piano, etc. Well, I have been convicted of just being a part of this musical world without boldly speaking the truth that these dear, lost people need to hear. So this is the break from being a "nice" (really despicable!) Christian with these people to a Christian who will speak the clear words of the Gospel of Jesus. Please pray for me, as I've already started to see some friendships cooling over my becoming "radical." Please pray for hearts to open, and pray that some of these people (many of whom I know only by sight) would ask questions. Thank you dear saints!

Yeah, that reaction will happen but it's the sign you are going in the right direction. Don't give up; the Lord go with you in all this.

That spirit of fear will be bound in Jesus name. When we've done all to stand, stand! Will pray for your getting out there, he'll go before you.

Hi Michelle, any update from the Opera? I was also wondering about the 24th parade, if you were planning on passing out the books?

Thanks to all of you for praying! Here's an update: I went down on Thursday and then again tonight. Thursday was really pretty terrible. I was feeling weak and defeated and I got nearly as many rejects as takers, including one older man who slammed the tract back in my hand and spit out "Take it!" But....I continued praying and many brothers and sisters here in Logan were praying, and tonight was wonderful! This morning, during the day, and then on the drive down I was praying that I would rejoice in the Lord during this whole time, and that fear would be defeated in overflowing joy and the confidence of the Lord. Unknown to me, that was what Mom and Dad were praying at home while I was gone. Well, while I still nervous, the Lord really put that great joy and confidence in my heart. One lady came up to me as I gave her a tract and said, "You have a smile that's perfect for handing out things!" It was sort of a funny thing to say--I knew it was a visible answer to those prayers. The Lord is so good! Turning terror into joy. I was thinking about all of you praying while I was driving down, and knew I was being upheld by the prayers of the saints. Please keep praying that people will not be able to forget what they read in these tracts. Thank you. Also, Alan, I am planning to hand out the books on the 24th, unless Brad wants to go, in which case I'll watch Oasis Books for him.
