A few weeks ago, when we rolled into Tennessee (now being in Arkansas) I have been continually amazed and floored at this phenomenon called 'The Bible Belt'. I've never experienced anything like this before... it's like the land of the Christians: Christians are everywhere, however I cannot say the same about Christ. I don't think I can get used to a drunk seminary student yelling in my face about 'what I'm doing is wrong'. It really is astounding. The majority of folk down here truly have a "form of godliness", but the very substance that makes a man a Christian is hard to be found. It is like Jesus looking for figs on a tree that appears to be in season, yet He finds none. I fear greatly for these dear people.
Of course, I have been blessed to find some of the most wonderful Christians down here as well; those few saints of Sardis who have not defiled their garments. How blessed is the contrast of the righteous. My eyes have truly been opened to the difference. I pray that we all would examine ourselves to see if we really are of the faith, that we stand the test of a true Christian, that we may find ourselves known of Jesus on that Last Day. "By their fruits ye shall know them."

It's true brother. The Bible belt would like to hang Bible preachers with the "belt of lies."

The bible belt also has a strong aversion to the teaching of science in order to support bronze-age mythology.
