"Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; and he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt." (Genesis 19:24-26)
Jesus exhorted His disciples to remember Lot's wife in Luke 17:32. What are some of your thoughts concerning this command of Christ and it's importance to the Body of Christ in the last days?

It is interesting you have chosen to mention Lot's wife. One day about 17 years ago I was reading my bible and three words hit me like a ton of bricks. Remember Lot's wife. A strong conviction came to my heart, not condemnation, and the Holy Ghost pointed out some things that needed changing in my life. It was a terrific time.
Why Lot's wife? Three little words but powerful. They changed my entire life. For one thing we were addicted to T.V. and God was jealous. He wanted us to turn away from Sodom so we could receive from him. The prince & power of the air had a hold on our household and we were in danger. Was led to cut the cable cord and return it promptly and tell them to keep their change, that I did. Cut the cord with a knife and off our home. Gave away the antenna.
For one month I prayed that the Lord would blow up our T.V. Well, my husband was on a men's retreat and returned home and turned on the T.V. When he did, it blew. He called me at work and told me. We decided to get rid of it, the Lord wanted it. No use fixing it we decided. I know this is a long story, but those three words changed our life, and the Lord loved us enough to deal with us.
I wondered about those words and why would Jesus say that. Lot's wife wanted to be in Sodom, she really didn't want to leave or she would not have disobeyed the Lord. This is a warning from the Lord about Lot's wife, it's serious.

Wow, that's an amazing testimony. I once heard of a minister who ordered a TV and when it arrived the box it was in had written across it: "Bringing the World into Your Home". He immediately ordered it be sent back!
Yes, Lot's wife still had the love of the world in her. Jesus was warning us to divorce ourselves from everything in the world because the world will be destroyed.
1 John 2:15-17: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever."

There's something I forgot to mention to you all. Here it is years later and the Lord has blessed us with a computer. Not wanting one at all, our son gave us one recently. We can't believe the blessing it is, a real tool to be used the kingdom of God. He puts something in our hand, just like he did for Moses. Well, we're excited about what the Lord is doing and we want to keep our eyes on him and not the world. But I do want you to know we are being blessed now with documentaries through this computer and certain godly family and faith movies. One we saw today was JESUS CAMP. Tim & I were brought to tears as we watched children getting on fire for Jesus genuinely and for real. The reason why I'm sharing this is because we don't have a T.V. still and don't care about the trash on that thing, but we do enjoy seeing things that will be a blessing spiritually or inspire us for the Lord. We are not looking back as Lot's wife did, desiring those things that don't please Jesus. We are different now and will continue to guard our hearts. Bless you all!
