Coming up at the end of may, the 24th to be exact, I will be speaking at a youth rally here in Fredericton, which is being held at my school (Leo Hayes). I find that God has been laying it on my heart to speak on following His will, and not relying so much on my own. Now here is the dilemna: I don't really know where to start as far as preparing my message, so if anyone has any scriptures or ideas on where to start, that would be greatly appreciated "We can make our own plans, but the Lord determines our steps." -- Proverbs 16:9

Justin, that scripture is exactly where you should start. I'am guessing you are in highschool. What better scripture to speak to students who have grand ideas about their future here on earth but perhaps have no idea about eternity.

You're right in your assumption that I am a high school student (still; I graduate in june. This is basically my way of going out with a bang ). I have heard from many friends that that is where I need to start. If anyone has examples from the bible I can use, or key points that I should include, that would be awesome.

Romans 12:1-2,
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
This Scripture is very challenging and would go well with your message on the will of God.

Perhaps a good point is that renewing your mind is a moment by moment thing. Because as we walk and live in the world, it is always attacking our christian mindset and trying to tear down what the Holy Spirit has been building up.

I'd like to thank everyone for their prayers and support on this issue, it all helped ALOT. I apologize for my not giving the details on how it went, but I have been fairly busy getting ready for graduation.
It was a good crowd of close to 70 people, which I was very pleased with. I decided to focus on following God's will for all believers, and to really drive home the fact that God can use anyone of his believers, when we trust in His awesome, almighty power. I organized it into the following points: 1. God can use anyone - with a faith in God, all things are possible(phillipians 4:13) - even when we don't want to follow his will, God can put us in the position to do so (example: Gideon) 2. What is His will for ALL believers? - proverbs 3:5-6 - do those things, and exemplify Christ in everything you do, because we are His examples to non-christians, and christians alike. 3. Anything can be done with His Holy Spirit - go into all of your battles with a focus on Christ, and you are guaranteed a win.
I was told that it was able to help many believers present, and that many left feeling convicted in the amount of focus Christ has in their own lives. I pray that these facts can be living well in the hearts of those christians.
God Bless

Justin: That was wonderful what the Lord did for you. Just now getting message, but rejoice in the Lord for his faithfulness. Now that you've shared and there will no doubt be other appointments or assignments from the Lord as you are a willing vessel. This is his promise as you shared that word from him. Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Hallelujah!!!
