Here is Miles' prayer guide he posted in his newsletter:
---------------
INTERCESSORY PRAYER GUIDE FOR Miles Lewis
Pray that:
Mondays: God would prepare the hearts of many Ukrainians to hear the Gospel message
Tuesdays: my heart would be broken and shaped for God to do a great work in me
Wednesdays: I would receive God’s wisdom and insight for the tasks to be completed
Thursdays: many people in Ukraine would accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior
Fridays: our entire team would be totally united in Christ’s love
Saturdays: our families would not worry, fear or doubt
Sundays: my body will be healthy and strong before and during the trip
Offer these intercessory petitions on:
June 26: That I would be useful to the Master and prepared for good works. 2 Tim 2:21
June 27: That I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. Phil 4:13
June 28: That I will teach and encourage – carefully and with great patience 2 Tim 4:2
June 29: That God would strengthen and protect me from the evil one. 2 Thess. 3:3
June 30: That the word of Christ would dwell in me richly as I teach others. Colos. 3:16
July 1: That I would not be ashamed of the Gospel, God’s salvation power. Rom 1:16
July 2: That I would use the gifts I received from God to serve others. 1 Peter 4:10
Please pray for me during the trip for:
June 26 - 27: Comfort, encouragement and peace for my family as we leave, safe travel on the Thursday/Friday flights, an ability to sleep during the “red-eye” flight, no nausea or travel sickness, that I would lean on God and spend a lot of time in His Word and prayer, that I will share God’s love with someone I’ll probably never meet again during travels, a powerful retreat.
June 28 – 29: Supernatural strength to deal with the jet lag and two power-filled days of training and worship at the retreat. Assurance for my family that everything is OK, a great time of bonding and unity for our mission team, great praise, worship, prayer and training sessions, sweet fellowship on the train ride from Kiev to Kherson, wisdom, acceptance of a foreign culture, no anxiety, sickness or fear, a wonderful Sunday worship and joyful meeting with host families.
June 30 – July 5: Every day would be focused on God’s Word and prayer as well as ministry to people, a bonding with our host family and interpreter, graciousness and flexibility to deal with inconveniences and changing schedules, good sleep and a refreshed body every day, a strong sense of God’s presence, boldness as I witness about Christ, receptive Ukrainian hearts, that I would have a broken and servant’s heart always looking to the needs of others, discernment, wisdom and godly counsel as I speak, Christ’s love for Ukrainians, that God would open doors of evangelism to many children and adults, joy in the face of adversity, a smile and encouraging words for others, the very words of Christ to speak in every situation, compassion as I meet many strangers, no self-pity or discouragement, my family not to worry about me, a strong desire to share the Good News about what Jesus has done for me and what he can do for others, superior health and energy, a filling of the Holy Spirit, that multitudes of Ukrainians come to the festivals in various towns and villages, that the sermons, songs, films, skits and lessons be understood, that many people would accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, that God gets all the glory, no homesickness or fear, God’s perfect peace and protection would cover our entire team
July 6 - 7: A powerful final worship service, compassion for children at the disabled children’s orphanage, patience during the long train ride back to Kiev, contentment, safe travel, a reflective heart to what God wants me to learn from the mission experience, great celebration of a victorious trip and a restful evening in Kiev on the way home
July 8: A joyous and emotional reunion with my family, a deeper commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ that will change me permanently, a heart devoted to serving God wherever I am.
Thanks for prayers offered in faith that God always answers according to His will!
Blessings,
Miles
