Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
I would like to ask for your help in joining with me to pray for my kids, and to pray for my wife and I about some things. For my daughter, I am concerned about the fact that she has quite a tendency to telling lies. My wife and I have done everything we can think of to correct this problem. But ultimately, God needs to accomplish this work in her heart. For my youngest son, could you please pray for courage ? For both my kids, we are wanting to see them look to God for help in these areas, realizing that they cannot, on their own, gain victory in these areas, but need to 'Look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith'. My son has become almost paralyzed with fear, since the first play of the year in soccer, when he was put in goal. Ever since then, he has started to anticipate his games with stress and anxiety, whereas originally he looked forward to them with excitement. Although one night after we prayed together about this issue he did much better during that game, this has not continued. Instead, he talks frequently about not liking soccer and not wanting to go to his games. One concern of ours is that he not develop a habit of avoiding things that he is afraid of.
For myself, please pray that I will be patient, as I endeavor to encourage my kids and discipline them where necessary. Please pray that Christ will be formed within me. Also, we need God's great wisdom to be imparted to us. Pray that we will be able to use God's Word as a means of instructing our kids in these areas.

May the Lord answer your prayer, dear brother. "Unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."

I want to praise God as I just received an email from a friend. Between these words he shared with me and Eli's words, I am encouraged to continue to look to God with an attitude of patient hope and expectancy !
Here are the words my friend shared with me in an email. They were sent to him by a friend of his :
Hello everyone, I am excited to share what I am about to share because we are to encourage one another as the day approaches. Jam 5:16 Says "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." I want you to take a few moments to consider something powerful before you go on to other things. Let's first look at the Greek word for 'effectual fervent'. It is one word, 'energeho'. It literally means to be in a state of work or power thus active. En-erg-he-o From G1756; to be active, efficient: - do, (be) effectual (fervent), be mighty in, shew forth self, work (effectually in). En-ER-gace' From G1722 and G2041; active, operative: - effectual, powerful. You see we have power lying dormant and untouched with in. Christ wants you to yield to his operative power yet many times we let the world conform our minds. We see crisis, we see the sick, we see a man that is hopelessly lost in the darkness of this world, we see our enemies, and we sometimes let the world say that their is nothing I can do. Let me share a brief testimony that will encourage you to activate your lips into life changing prayer. Many years ago I was seeking work. I had just been laid off from a profitable job as a web designer intern. I asked God where he wanted me to work and He showed me a small grocery store that had an overnight stocking team. Little did I know that it was really a special assignment from God. God led me to help a persecuted Christian janitor that was being threatened and mocked by the stocking team. The guys on the team were real evil. They talked about things like sawed off shot guns and were really violent. One man in particular was noted for his evil mockery and enticing the others to follow in on the conversations that would lead to the harassment of the janitor. One day I had to step back as he threw an entire case of pop in the air with cans exploding all of the floor while reacting to work in a violent rage. Well praise God the challenge was real. Thanks to God he showed me for the first time to pray for my enemies. Now the real kicker to the story. Just last night I was in a revival meeting when I saw this tall character walk by with a joyous smile. I did a double take to recognize the features of this man. It was that angry man on the stocking crew! BUT... He had been changed. He was now greeting people with a courteous smile and I even got a chance to hug him and he blessed me. This is one of a handful of times that God has enabled me to see people years later that have been changed by the power of God. You see our prayers have power to change peoples lives if we activate it and put our request before almighty God. Don't think by the external circumstance but rather by the mind of Christ for your friends, neighbors and your enemies. I praise our God for this energy abiding in us just waiting to be activated. Christ is that power and he just wants you to yield and see that power unleashed. Bless you and have an abundant day! Love Billy
