Hi Guys,
I'd like to start with a praise note and also ask if you could pray for me about a few things. Here's the praise note : My youngest son Daniel started playing soccer this year and at first he was totally loving it. He had been looking forward to the beginning of the season with such anticipation ! Then when he found out that he would have to play goalie some of the time, and when he experienced the discouragement of trying, but not being able to score goals, he no longer looked forward to his games. For the most part, I've just been encouraging him to stick with it and not to give up. Yesterday however, I took some time to pray with him. We prayed for courage, just as his namesake Daniel from the Old Testament showed courage, when he prayed to God, even though the King had commanded him not to. My wife and I were thrilled to see the change in Daniel's attitude during last night's game, compared to the past few games. We saw the smile return to his face, and again he was putting out his best effort !
Here are a few things I would appreciate prayer for :
My health problem (TMJ or jaw joint condition) has improved some, praise God. I have been seeing a new dentist who has made a new splint for me that has been providing some resolution of my jaw pain and discomfort. Please pray that this continues.
I have a friend who has been facing many personal challenges over the years. He experiences feelings of rejection from when his father abandonned him when he was young. As well, he used to work in a Christian ministry and while in this ministry found that some of the other Christians there had acted unkindly towards him. He believes that by attending weekly deliverance meetings, he will be able to find relief from the demons which he sees as the source of most of his problems. I have been encouraging him to focus on obeying God in any areas revealed in his Word, such as needing to forgive those who he feels have harmed him. Could you please pray for him that he might seek to please God in all things and thus experience freedom and victory in his life ?
In Jesus,
John
