One cheering word, poor lost sinner,
for you! You think you mustn't come
to GOD because you are unworthy. Now;
there hasn't been a saint alive on this
earth who hasn't been made to feel that
he is unworthy. If Job, and Isaiah,
and Paul were all obliged to say "I am
unworthy," oh; poor sinner, will you be
ashamed to join in the same confession??
If divine grace doesn't eradicate all
sin from the believer, how do you hope
to do it yourself?? and if GOD loves
His own while they are yet unworthy, do
you think your loathsomeness will prevent
His loving you??
Believe on JESUS, you outcast from the
world's society! JESUS calls you, just
as you are. Even now say, "You, Lord;
have died for sinners, I am a sinner;
sprinkle your blood on me," if you will
confess your sin you will find pardon.
If now; with all your heart, you will
say; " I am unworthy, wash me," you shall
be washed now. If the Holy Spirit shall
enable you from your heart to cry; O,
Lamb of GOD, I come! you shall rise from
this reading this morning with all your
sins pardoned; and although you woke
with every sin that mankind has ever
committed on you head, you shall rest
tonight accepted in the Beloved; though
once degraded with the filthy rags of
sin, you shall be adorned with a robe
of righteousness, and appear as pure as
the angels. For "Now", mark "Now is the
time of GOD'S favor." If you trust in
GOD who justifies the wicked, your faith
is reckoned as righteousness. Oh! May
the Holy Spirit give you saving faith in
HIM who receives the most unworthy.

Lately, I've been keenly aware of my unworthiness (without Christ) and so I cling to Him. Who else, can I cling to, but the only one who is perfect, and the only one who can love me...like He does ?
Though unworthy, in and of myself, God makes me worthy, in and of the death of his dear son.
What a great story...and one that's true; that the royal King of heaven would stoop down from heaven and adopt us sinful beggars into his own family, and bestow upon us the title of 'sons and daughters of God' !
Galations 4: 6,7
"Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir."
